Layne Waerea and Chris Braddock’s Sweaty Conversations in Tāmaki Makaurau (2022) were part of a series of activations on Braddock’s Conversation Mat (2022), as part of the exhibition Equinox at Ngutu Kākā, Auckland, curated by Balamohan Shingade.
On Tuesday 4th October from 12pm – 12.30pm, Layne Waerea (Te Arawa, Ngāti Kahungunu) and Chris Braddock invited people to a participatory performance event. Each participant activated their Free sweat cushion-bags to carry out a series of simple exercises in order to generate free sweat. At the conclusion of the workout, there was a Team photo.
